Song in Progress~ Little Dove

I post paintings in progress all the time, but rarely do I post a song in progress. I thought it might be fun to share how this song is birthed.

About a month ago, in the middle of a storm, two young doves were hurled out of the palm tree and landed on our back yard fence. Dazed and confused they stayed there all day tucked in tight and shivering.

Ooooh I felt bad for them. And I could relate to their plight. How many times, was I was scared to leave a fence? How many times did I not realize I could fly?

My husband looked at the birds and said, "You gotta learn to let your wings squeak, little dove."
The beauty and truth of his words touched my soul. This song is slowly, quietly emerging.

Update 6/17/10

It sure is an adventure using the laptop as a piano keyboard. Someday, I hope my skill level catches up to the wonderful music in my head! If not, I'll find great musicians who can make it happen.

I'm not sure I'll keep this mournful orchestral version ...we'll see what happens when I merge it with my voice.
