Good Bye ~ Give Your Walls Some Soul

I think all my best projects start with, "Whooohoo! Wouldn't it be fun if we...?"

And my television series, Give Your Walls Some Soul, was among my best projects.

A week ago, I made the decision to cease production of my television series, Give Your Walls Some Soul, and my Ning network of the same name.

I had already decided that this was my last season. After 70+ episodes I knew it was time to call it a day. I thought I'd finish out the year or at least in Monk-like fashion, finish on an even number.

But I was driving back from the post office last Friday and a big voice told me it was time to let go of the show.

Now!

It was the same voice I hear when a painting is done, telling me to stop. Over the years I've learned to listen to that voice. And when I don't, I always end up in trouble. So as soon as I returned to the studio, I advised the crew of my decision.

Wonderful crew members have come and gone over the years and I am so grateful for all of them.

I've been blessed with a great base of creative people who have consistently worked hard to make this show special. What an amazing journey! Three cheers is not nearly enough for these talented folks. Bravo guys!

We started with one little show in one little station. Along the way we have:

~ secured air time in 60+ markets in the United States
~put 79 episodes in the can.
~received 16 Western Access Video Excellence Finalist Awards

Looking back at these stats really gives me a sense of accomplishment. I look forward so much that I forget to pat myself on the back. Writing this blog helped me frame this series.

When it's all said and done, these are the things that are priceless:

~Calls,e-mails, and tweets from viewers who are now creating as a result of the show.
~Positive feedback from stations.
~Memories of the amazing creative collaboration
~Life Long Friends

I'll come back and post a clip from the last show. Something will surely happen to make me laugh. Meanwhile, here's a clip for one last smile.
